Every child deserves to be pursued.

Pursuit walks with children from primary school to senior school — with a weekly meal, school fees, mental health support, and mentors who stay in their corner long after the bell rings.

Our story

A promising start deserves the chance to continue.

Pursuit was started because too many bright learners were dropping out — not for lack of ability, but because they were hungry, because fees went unpaid, because they were carrying more than a child should carry alone.

Our main work is Pursuit & Placement — matching learners who've excelled in the Grade 9 national assessment with the senior schools and sponsors they've earned. Everything else we do — the weekly meal, fee support, and counselling — exists to help learners get there in the first place, and to stay with them once they arrive.

Our main mission

Pursuit & Placement

For learners whose Grade 9 national assessment results outpace what their families can afford in senior school — we match them with schools and sponsors suited to their results and their interests.

How matching works

A result should open a door — not just prove you deserved one.

Every learner we place has already earned strong results. We look at what they scored, what they're drawn to, and which schools and sponsor organizations are the right fit — then we make the introduction and follow it through to enrollment.

  • Grade 9 results reviewed against senior school and sponsor criteria
  • Learner interests and strengths factored into the match, not just the score
  • We stay close through enrollment — not just the introduction

After placement

Holiday mentorship & continued counselling

A placement is just the beginning — we stay close as each learner settles in. Every learner we place keeps access to counselling over the holidays, plus a 5-day mentorship program to guide, ground, and prepare them for what's ahead.

How we get them there

What happens in junior school

Before a learner ever reaches Grade 9, we're already working to keep them healthy, enrolled, and supported — because every learner deserves that kind of stability, whether or not it shows up on a test.

Every learner

Weekly meals

A meal, one day a week, for every learner in primary and junior school — no exceptions, no means test.

Learners facing hardship

Fee support

Junior school fees covered for learners who've lost a parent, or whose families can't otherwise afford to keep them enrolled.

Every learner

Counselling

Ongoing access to trained counsellors — a safe, consistent space to process and be heard.
